Shaniwar Wada is the finest and most popular tourist destination of Maharastra. This is a 286-year-old mansion built by Peshwa Bajirao and is one of the supreme examples of architecture of that time. Aga Khan Palace

Aga Khan Palace was built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III. It is considered one of the largest landmarks in Indian history and many defining moments in Indian Independence. During the Indian Freedom movement, Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi, Mahadev Desai as well as Sarojini Naidu were kept here as prisoners. The palace is now the headquarters of the Gandhi National Memorial society as it has personal belongings of Gandhi. It has the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi buried in its ground. Sinhagad Fort

Chaturshringi Temple

Chaturshringi temple is a great 90 feet high and 125 feet wide Hindu temple located on the Slope of a hill on the Senapati Bapat road. One has to climb 100 steps to reach the shrine of the Goddess Chaturshringi which is said to be a symbol of faith and power. Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga idols are also in this temple. This temple is a major tourist focal point in the city as Goddess Chaturshringi is said to be the reigning goddess of Pune.

Pataleshwar

Pataleshwar is 8th-century rock-cut temple built during the Rashtrakuta dynasty is dedicated to Lord Shiva, which has been declared as a protected monument by the government. The Pataleshwar is the right place if the tourist wants to see ancient Indian architecture. The temple opens daily and the rituals performed on a daily basis. Within the inner sanctum flanked by two smaller cells on either side, there is a Shiv Linga situated. The most peculiar feature of architecture this place is that Nandi Mandapa is in the front of the cave.

Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple

Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This temple is extremely famous for its religious festivities. A considerable crowd of devotees every day visit this temple, which comes to attend the daily pooja, abhisheka and the Arti of Lord Ganesh. The Lord Ganapati idol is 2.2 meters high and 1 meter wide and is adorned with almost 40 kilos of gold. During the Ganesh festival temple is splendidly decorated with colorful lights which attract both locals and tourist.
